Prince Williamand Kate Middleton’s only daughter, 7, and Prince George remained remarkably and impeccably composed during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral services on Monday, Sept. 19, but Charlotte grew emotional at one moment following the monarch’s state funeral.
The tears came as the Queen’s casket was moved from a gun carriage into a hearse.
At another point during the procession, cameras caught Princess Charlotte as the young royal shared a sweet smile with Duchess Meghan while Camilla appeared frustrated.
The Queen’s funeral procession was the first in which Charlotte and her big brother have ever participated.
The long-reigning monarch died on Sept. 8, 2022, at 96 years old.
A private funeral at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle followed the state funeral.
